WHO WE ARE

Group Photo - who we are.JPG

"The active citizens community volunteers group is comprised of local residents who want to make a difference in our community."

As a group we collaborate on various events and activities throughout the month to tackle issues, such as community speed watches, organising group litter picking days and encouraging residents to get involved in their local neighbourhood watch and street watch initiatives. We also have an allotment where we grow fruit and vegetables, which we distribute to those in need within the community.

THE AREAS WE COVER:

Area Maps

We currently cover the Four Oaks, Mere Green and Roughley areas of Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands.

Where we began...

I have worked for the West Midlands Police as a Police Community Support Officer, covering Four Oaks, Mere Green and Roughly, for the last 14 years. My role includes connecting with the community and building partnerships to make the community a safe place to live and work, tackling any issues that are reported.

The Active Citizens was formed in 2018 with local councillors, church groups and residents, with the aim to bring together a number of initiatives within one group. Over time, based on the communities needs, our group has grown and I have been able to combine my role as a PCSO with the pleasure of being able to work along side a great group of volunteers.
