EVENTS & ACTIVITIES

"Speed Watch is a national initiative where proactive members of the community, supported by their local police, record details

of speeding vehicles."

Registered keepers of vehicles exceeding the speed limit are contacted with a letter explaining the potential risks and consequences of their dangerous behaviour. Repeat offenders will receive a second letter before further action is taken, giving drivers every opportunity to slow down.

"Speedwatch is not about interfering with neighbours' behaviour; it is a proactive solution to improve the safety for everyone."

Along with the support of our local PCSO Gill Whittingham, residents within the Four Oaks, Mere Green and Roughley areas have been able to carry out regular speed watches, with great success.

It is our hope that by conducting these watches, and having a clear presence on the road, drivers will think twice before exceeding the speed limits. Helping to make a difference and prevent any accidents that could potentially occur in the future.

It is your responsibility to know the limit and stay within it.
The amount of vehicles travelling over the limit in our local area is worrying.

COME TO OUR NEXT SPEED WATCH...

We try to conduct as many watches as possible throughout the month, based on the information given to us by local residents. For us to achieve this we need our local residents to join in, an hour or two a month, to support alongside our regular volunteers.

To see when our next speed watch will be, please refer to our Events Calendar on the home page and if you would like to join us Get in Touch to arrange with our local PSCO.

We are always looking for volunteers who want to join our team and help us make a difference in the local area. Come as a family, with your friends or on your own, all are welcome.
